REFLECTING ON MY PERSONAL WELL-BEING by Ann Marie Tabilas

ANN MARIE TABILAS

As a 2nd grade teacher and a mother of adult children, I have learned that caring for others has always been a central part of my life. Whether I am supporting my students in the classroom or staying connected with my children as they navigate adulthood, I often find myself giving my time, energy, and attention to the people around me.

One of my strengths is my ability to maintain positive relationships and seek joy in everyday moments. I also make an effort to keep a healthy perspective when challenges arise and remind myself that not everything has to be perfect. My life experiences as both a teacher and a parent have helped me become more patient, resilient, and understanding.

At the same time, I recognize areas where I can improve. I would like to be more intentional and making time for activities that nurture my physical and emotional health.

Reflecting on my wellness journey reminds me that self-care is not selfish, it is necessary. By taking better care of myself, I can continue to show up as a caring teacher, a supportive mother, and a healthier version of myself.
